Third year Songwriting student Polly Money has been chosen by the BBC Introducing panel to appear at Glastonbury festival at the end of this month.
The surprise news arrived in her inbox to a silent scream of excitement! Created in 2007 to support the most promising unsigned artists from across the UK and has helped launch the careers of Ed Sheeran, Two Door Cinema Club, Florence and the Machine, Rizzle Kicks and Bombay Bicycle Club. The Glastonbury gig is widely considered as the coveted event and a pivotal part of any new artists trajectory!
Speaking about the good news, Polly said ‘’As a family, we’ve made the pilgrimage to Pilton many times and always left with such fond memories. Glastonbury is such unique experience and performing there has been an ambition of mine for a while now. I’m honoured and super thankful to the BBC Introducing panel for giving me a summer I’ll never forget: you only ever play Glastonbury for the first time once!’’.
This news comes a year after Polly Money supported Muse on their stadium tour in Paris. She was scouted by the lead singer Matt Bellamy playing at the Marylebone Summer Fayre who soon after asked her to play alongside other support acts including Dizzee Rascal.
Polly Money’s ‘The ‘That Guy’ EP’ is out now on iTunes!
