Honey Lung

Who's going to be your favourite new band of 2018?

If you're not yet sure, then check out this selection of acts from Gigwise to look out for this year. We're delighted that Honey Lung (who feature our current BMus Drums degree student Omri Covo) have been chosen for their energised take on classic grunge. 

If you're in London, go check out Honey Lung live when they headline the Sebright Arms on 17th January and listen to 'Sophomore' below.

Duke of Wolves 

Duke of Wolves are one of numerous ICMP affiliates who will be playing at the Camden Rocks 2018 Festival. They'll be joined by the likes of Rival Karma, Tarantula and At The Sun when the festival takes place in North London. Listen to the latest Duke of Wolves track, 'Without a Name', below. 

Diamantina appears on BBC 1's new singing show All Together Now 

Our songwriting student was one of the first contestants on BBC 1's new Saturday night singing show All Together Now. You can read about how she landed the performance slot in our interview while listen to her recent tune 'Earn Me'.

Lilly Ahlberg has just released her new single 'Bad Boys', a co-write from our guitar alumnus Jon Hockings. Both Apple Music and Spotify have shown their support via their new music playlists and you can listen here.

The Velvet Hands 
 
The Velvet Hands feature Toby Mitchell  and Sam Hilder, respectively student and graduate from our BA Creative Musicianship degree. Ahead of the release of their debut album in May, the group has been picking up some great reviews for their latest track, 'Only Blame Myself'. It's recently been selected as promoters This Feeling's track of the week on Radio X. Listen to below... 
 

Turbowolf

Ace rockers Turbowolf feature our bass aluma Lianna Davies and have been tearing up stages and studios over the last few years. They've just announced that they will be joining the brilliant Royal Blood on the latter's forthcoming American tour. Get tickets now and listen to 'Domino' from the band's new album, 'Free Life', set for release in March 2018 .

​Husky Loops 

We've been shouting about the success of Husky Loops for some time, an electronic rock trio recently handpicked by Placebo to join them on tour towards the end of 2017.  Featuring BA Music Business degree student Tommaso Medica on bass, the group have just been chosen by Fred Perry as ones to watch in 2018.

After huge global success, the band are gearing up for a big 2018 with the release of new music in the form of single, 'I Can't Quit' taken from their forthcoming album, 'Combat Sports'.
