With the ICMP Songwriting Scholarship closing, the ICMP is pleased to announce the judge for the scholarship is folk singer/songwriter Frank Turner. Frank began his career in post-hardcore band Million Dead, but has since established an acoustic solo career that has earned him a huge following. The ICMP Songwriting Scholarship is integral to the ICMP's scholarship provision, ensuring that as wide a range of students as possible are able to access its courses, support and guidance. Accordingly the award aims to provide talented songwriters with the opportunity to further develop their skills through a specialist course of study. The winner of this award will receive a unique opportunity to attend the ICMP's fantastic one-year Certificate of Higher Education Songwriting programme, worth over £6,000, for free. Designed for both songwriters and singer/songwriters, the programme helps students to develop their lyric writing, song form, structure and harmony and theory.
The winner will be contacted over the next few weeks, with an announcement following shortly after. If you are interested in studying songwriting, click here.
