A student of the Institute, Tommaso Orioli, has won a songwriting competition that will take him all the way to France to see his song performed by an 11-piece band and choir at the Divan du Monde in Paris.

The competition, run by one of the Institute’s international partners, the ATLA School, saw students composing a song for the school’s theatrical concert adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic novel Dorian Gray.
Tommaso’s submission, entitled “Forever Spring”, was chosen out of a strong field of candidates. As part of his prize, he will be whisked off to the premiere to see his song performed at the prestigious Divan du Monde. Performing Tommaso’s lyrics as Dorian Gray himself will be French singer Baptiste Defromont, quarter-finalist on the French version of The Voice, in front of a full rock band and choir.

You can check out some of Tommaso's original music on his Soundcloud.
