ICMP BA Songwriting graduate Lauren Alex Hooper was one of the performers at the Song Suffragettes event at Nashville.
Taking place on 9th April, the event is a showcase of Nashville’s newest and brightest female singer-songwriters in an intimate, one-of-a-kind setting at the city’s Listening Room venue.
Lauren was one of five artists who performed on the night.
Commenting on her experiences, Lauren said:
“Playing Song Suffragettes was incredible - possibly the most fun I've ever had. It was nerve-wracking, but everyone was so nice and there was such a genuine atmosphere of supportiveness that I felt really comfortable.”
After the performance, I didn't expect anyone to say more than hello but so many people came up to me to say how much they loved my performance of 'Invisible' or how something I said had resonated with them. Some people shared really personal stories and I'm so honoured that they felt comfortable doing that."
Lauren will be releasing her latest track very soon. Visit Lauren’s website to learn more about her music.
Watch her perform a cover version of Taylor Swift's 'Delicate' as part of the event.
