ICMP recently hosted it's annual Careers Day, where we invite a host of panelists and industry specialists to attend the ICMP throughout the day to talk to students about a variety of subjects including management, publishing, A&R, promotion and everything in between.

The day began with our key-note speaker Mike Smith, the new Managing Director at Warner/Chappell, speaking to students about his experience working with artists including Blur, Mark Ronson and The Vaccines.

Throughout the day we had panels including 'When to Gig, Why to Gig and How to Gig', 'When Do you Need a Manager?' and 'Radio Play, Streaming and Blog Reviews' in which students were able to get their questions answered on what advice the panelists would give them as artists starting out in the music industry.

We were also running 1:1 A&R sessions with A&R representatives from Columbia, Virgin, Sony/RCA and Universal Publishing. This gave students the opportunity to have 20 minutes talking directing with music industry professionals about their music, their future and any advice that would help them succeed with their music.
