We are very happy to announce that the special guest at our first Songwriters' Circle of the year will be none other than Glen Matlock, original member of legendary punk band The Sex Pistols. Co-writer of songs such as 'Anarchy in the UK' and 'God Save the Queen', Glen will be performing acoustic versions of a number of Sex Pistols songs, and talking about his experiences in the music industry. For any songwriters, this is not one to miss.
Though they only released one album, The Sex Pistols are known as one of the most influential bands of all time, kickstarting the UK punk scene and influencing an entire generation of musicians, artists and creatives. Matlock was a founder member of the band, and co-writer of 10 of the 12 songs from their debut and only record, 'Never Mind the B******s, Here's The Sex Pistols'.
Glen will be joined by host tutor Luke Toms, guest alumna Polly Money, and students Josh Cotterill, Arran George and Freya Volk. The Songwriters' Circle will take place at MODE in Notting Hill on Tuesday the 9th of February, see the event page for more details.
