The Institute is counting down to its most jam-packed Freshers’ yet. Taking place over nine days this year’s Freshers’ will have more than 20 events which students can attend from the 15th-23rd September. The schedule includes social events, masterclasses and workshops put together by the Events, Student Wellbeing Team and the Hub. There will be masterclasses in each discipline from Institute tutors, plus a special Drum Masterclass from funk legend Zigaboo Modeliste. Evening events include a Neon Party at the famous Love & Liquor night club, Songwriters’ Circle, Bandeoke, a Tutor Showcase, an Open Mic Night and a Camden Pub Crawl. Students can take part in Drama Workshops, a games evening, a film night and a Hub networking session. They may also join a visit to the Tricycle Theatre or the British Music Experience at the O2. The main event of the week is Freshers’ Day on Friday 20th September. With over 18 stalls from industry partners and local organisations, it will be a day full of competitions, giveaways, demos and activities not to be missed. All Freshers’ Day attendees will be entered into a prize draw to win an array of prizes, including tickets to Jake Bugg at the O2 Brixton, a Hard Rock Café meal voucher and VIP Museum entry, tickets to events at the London Guitar Festival, Stageworks goodies, a pair of ACS PRO-10 Earplugs and further prizes from BASCA, Meet and Jam and The Roundhouse. There is also a chance to take advantage of discounts on studio bundles and win an X1 mic from sE Electronics.
