ICMP related acts at The Great Escape 2017
A host of ICMP-related acts will be performing as part of The Great Escape 2017 in Brighton in May alongside high profile acts including Slaves and Rag N Bone Man. The city – based festival is one of the leading showcases for new music in Europe.
- Dakota (aka BMus Vocals graduate Sophie Elton) has also been featured in articles in leading newspapers such as The Times and her cover of Fast Car ft Jonas Blue was nominated for Best British Single & Best British Artist Video of the Year at the Brit Awards 2017.
- BA Creative Musicianship graduate Matt Maltese has been growing from strength to strength since studying the ICMP, and in no small part, with help and support from our careers service, The Hub. Matt met Pete Simmons from Universal Publishing at one of the career days during an A&R one-to-one session organised by The Hub. He has since gone on to be signed recently by Atlantic Records and has a number of other key performances this year including support slots with The Maccabees and Hamilton Leithauser.
- Victoria - featuring BA Music Business graduates Joe Housely and Alex Thomas and Part-Time Acoustic Guitar graduate Charlie Martin - will also be playing at the Isle of Wight Festival and across the UK as part of a nationwide tour on March 2017.
- Honey Lung, featuring current BMus Drums student Omri Covo, are signed to RYP Recordings, and will also be appearing at When in Manchester Festival, having previously garnered positive reviews from the likes of BBC Introducing in Devon for performances around London.
