We are proud to announce that on Wednesday 27th May, indie/rock band and alumni of the Institute, The Carnabys, will be headlining our very first Tunnel to Tunnel music festival at London Fields Brewery, Hackney.
The Carnabys, winners of Hard Rock Rising 2013, will be the final act of a jam-packed line-up consisting of 16 of the capital’s finest up-and-coming artists playing over two stages, all of which are current students or alumni of the Institute.
Having supported Blondie on their 2014 Tour and counting Debbie Harry and Phil Manzanera amongst their fans, the Carnabys are set to bring their swaggering rock sound to a crowd of 500 after a full day of original new music.
Jack Mercer and Ben Gittins, both members of the band and alumni of the Institute, said “we can’t wait to play such a unique venue alongside an exciting line-up of new bands!” Other artists to perform at the festival include The Manic Shine, The Sirens, Burnz and Swedish Death Candy.
Tunnel to Tunnel, held at London Fields Brewery, is a one-day, one-off event that will not be found anywhere else in London. Free for all students, the event will also feature craft beer, stone-baked pizza, and a few other surprises throughout the day.
The key sponsors for this Institute festival of music are Ernie Ball/Music Man and Knight Sound and Light, with support also coming from Dyne Road Recordings.
