Current ICMP students Ben Rotherham and Scott Colcombe, members of up and coming indie band Blush, have had their new song ‘Crying Glitter’ featured as Killing Moon Records’ ‘Track of the Day’ for 14th November 2016, making favourable comparisons to Editors, Morning Parade and Franz Ferdinand.
After releasing their debut single 'Daggers' which received widespread critical acclaim from Little Indie Blogs, BBC Introducing and BBC 6, Blush have seen increased international radio play. Becoming a ‘BBC Introducing’ featured artist paved the way for their second single 'WRNG’ as well as series of successful gigs, including a prominent set at Brighton’s Great Escape festival.
Ben and Scott are both undergraduate students on the ICMP’s BA Songwriting degree course. Previous songwriting graduates include Daughter and Denai Moore. Within 6 months of graduating, over 90% of ICMP graduates are in employment or further education; around two-thirds are engaged in music-related jobs or study; and the average salary of ICMP graduates is almost 12% above that for arts graduates*.
ICMP places great emphasis on career development of its graduates, and continues to innovate and invest in its extensive industry network to ensure that current and future graduates receive not just the best education and training but also the best opportunities for developing their careers and their creativity.
