The inaugural Songwriting Education Conference will be
held at ICMP London on 21st June 2017.
As leaders in the field of songwriting education, we have developed this innovative conference to bring together the international songwriting education community to share ideas in and approaches to songwriting teaching and learning. With some of the leading names in songwriting education already confirmed, including highly respected professionals from Belmont University in Nashville, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and Leeds College of Music, the conference promises to be an enjoyable and productive opportunity to discuss innovative thinking and practice.
The programme begins with panels and talks during the day of the 21st of June, finishing with a Songwriters’ Circle event on the evening. Delegates will attend presentations and discussion panels covering a range of specialist topics, with a schedule of presentations and discussion panels that will cover some of the most relevant and progressive thinking from the world of professional songwriting.
Students from ICMP’s own undergraduate Songwriting degree, Masters Songwriting degree and Songwriting graduates will also be included in the range of discussion panels; their views and experiences as songwriting students are integral to the development of songwriting education.
