Our renowned Songwriters' Circle offers you an exclusive opportunity to hear stripped-back songs, performed by the writers themselves along with insight into their processes and the songs themselves. This series of events showcase new material from some of the most talented, up and coming songwriting students in the UK.

Open to all ICMP students, the Songwriters' Circle attracts musicians, music lovers and industry alike. You won't find a more unique, welcoming and intimate event whilst studying with us at ICMP. This month's special will feature rising star Matilda Mann.

Championed by the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, KCRW and NPR, Matilda has played a string of festival appearances including the prestigious Park Stage at Glastonbury this summer and has previously supported the likes of Arlo Parks, Beabadoobee and The Staves.

Her live skills – hushed, magnetic performances that quietly draw you in and lock you into the tales she recounts in her songs – have also seen her score acclaim as well as good support slots. Her single ‘Paper Mache World’ recently featured in Netflix’s uplifting LQBTQ+ drama ‘Heartstoppers’ and she was recently nominated for an Ivor Novello in the ‘Rising Star’ category.

This event will take place at the Sherriff Centre, just a 5 minute walk away from ICMP, where you can attend in person, or you can watch the stream of this special event on our YouTube channel.
