Organised by our Careers and Industry Hub team, this event will offer ICMP students and alumni the chance to network with top industry professionals and learn more about working as a freelancer within the music industry and related fields.

The event will be held in the form of an interactive Q&A panel and will explore everything related to setting-up and establishing your own business, whether as an artist, a musician, an entrepreneur or a tutor. Essential advice for all students, but particularly pertinent to our third years who will shortly be moving into the world of employment following the culmination of their studies at ICMP.

Alex Bruce – Owner/Founder, Bruce Music
ICMP Alumnus Alex launched London guitar, piano and vocal tuition company Bruce Music while studying here in 2013. Bruce Music now employs 35 teachers, including many ICMP students and alumni, and is currently expanding across the UK. The company is a happy team of young, active professional musicians and prides itself on high quality teaching, and exemplary customer service.

Colin Young - Director, CC Young Accountants
CC Young is the leading provider of accounting and taxation services to the music, film and entertainment industry working across touring and business management, royalties and audit, business services, statutory audit and taxation.

Liam Hennessey -Senior Health and Welfare Officer, Help Musicians UK.
Help Musicians UK is the leading UK charity for professional musicians of all genres, from starting out through to retirement Liam's career history is focused around healthcare and he previously provided support for individuals with mental health issues for the charity Mind. He is a musician and in his spare time composes music for TV and film and has been in various bands over the last 10 years.
