For many students who have been out of the education system for a while, starting a university course can both be exciting and worrying. It can involve lots of change including readjusting to an academic environment and lifestyle, meeting new people, taking on new responsibilities and roles, and getting used to new environments and ways of doing things.

Who's this event for?
This is an informal event for any new mature students (anyone over the age of 21 when they start their ICMP course).

What will it entail?
The evening will provide an opportunity to meet other mature students who are about to start at ICMP in a relaxed setting.

There will be an informal discussion session where new students can talk about and share their own experiences of life and education, and also discuss common concerns and hopes about starting study at ICMP.

Who's hosting it?
The event is organised by the ICMP Wellbeing Team and run by Simon Phillips who is our current Transition Project Coordinator. Simon was once a mature student too and will speak a little about his own experiences of studying and working with adult learners in higher education.

Buffet refreshments will be provided. Come on down and meet your new cohort!
