Renowned drummer Gerry Brown visits ICMP for an exclusive Masterclass.

Gerry will talk about his experiences and the skills he had to develop to play with a wide range of artists, which he describes as adapting to "All different styles, like wearing different hats!"
Stanley Clarke, with whom Gerry crafted the revolutionary 'School Days' recording that continues to inspire Drummers and Bassists worldwide, called him a "master drummer".

This masterclass is obviously a must-see for all of our drummers, but also for bass players - a couple of lucky bass players will even have the opportunity to get up and play with Gerry during the class!

Gerry's versatile and musical objective points of view lead him to 'Serve the Music.' As well as having been in the drum chair for the legendary Stevie Wonder for the past 14 years, his long list of accomplishments has landed him on stages and recording studios with George Benson, Marcus Miller, Lionel Ritchie, Diana Ross, John Lee, Sonny Fortune, Alfonso Johnson and Phillip Bailey. He has also worked with the NDR Big Band, Brothers Johnson, Roberta Flack, Joe Sample, Slide Hampton, Tom Harrell, Larry Coryell, Dave Samuels, Chuck Loeb and Chick Corea.

Gerry is presently residing in Los Angeles and continues to be a driving force in today's industry. His first instructional Drum Video "R & B Drumming with Gerry Brown" was released to critical acclaim by numerous music publications. Gerry's insight as an educator and performer has established him as a sought-after clinician for Yamaha Drums, Zildjian Cymbals & Drumsticks and Evans Drumheads.

All masterclasses are free of charge to ICMP students and we have many great guests visiting throughout the year.
