Amane Suganami and Jas Kayser are joining us for a Masterclass talking about transforming electronic beats into live arrangements.

We are starting the new year with an exciting Masterclass!

After touring the US and Europe with Jorja Smith in 2022, Amane will give an inside on how he built the show and will talk with Jas about how they transformed electronic beats into live arrangements, how they prepared for the tour and how they are running the show.

Amane Suganami is an East London based musician, musical director and producer with a career spanning across a wide range of genres and artistry. Over the last several years Amane has served as Musical Director for Jorja Smith, Amaarae, Ego Ella May and Maverick Sabre; performed, recorded and filmed for artists such as Ed Sheehan, Elton John, Anne-Marie, Sigrid, Dermot Kennedy, King Krule and Ata Kak; alongside being a part of the burgeoning London Jazz scene as a member of ensemble, Maisha, whose debut album was released on Giles Peterson’s Brownswood label.

When Lenny Kravitz invites you to perform a drum duet you say yes. Since her 2018 cameo in the rock legend’s ‘Low’ video, drummer, composer and band leader Jas Kayser hasn’t looked back. The 26-year old has been picked up as an artist by Paiste Cymbals and Yamaha Drums and is developing an international following thanks to her eclectic adventures in sound which have taken her to Panama, Boston and the heart of the exciting London scene, where she is now based. An alumni of the prestigious Berklee College of Music,

Jas now drums for Jorja Smith, Alfa Mist and has featured in bands with leading British lights Nubya Garcia, Ashley Henry as well as American drummer Ralph Peterson’s Big Band. With a little help from an ever-expanding collective of musical ‘chums’ Jas released her debut Album ‘Jas 5ive’, which explores the fertile ground that lies between Jazz and Afro-beat and has been championed by the likes of Radio 1Xtra, Jazz FM, Giles Peterson and Jazzwise among others.
