About this event

In celebration of LGBTQ+ month, let's all go to northern Italy in the summer of 1983 and witness Elio's journey of self-discovery and love. Call Me By Your Name is a 2017 coming-of-age romantic drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino, and is based on a novel written by André Aciman. The film explores Elio’s first love towards Oliver as his feelings slowly develop, and his uncertainty of his sexual orientation, until he has to learn to embrace it. The film received four nominations at the 90th Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for 22-year-old Chalamet (the third-youngest nominee in the category), and winning for Best Adapted Screenplay. The screenplay also won at the 23rd Critics' Choice Awards, 71st British Academy Film Awards, and the Writers Guild of America Awards 2017.

The Society’s co-presidents, Ceren and Muhammed, invite the whole student body for a fun movie night, accompanied by FREE salty, sweet, and butter popcorn ready to be popped.
