We are excited to announce that the next Institute Careers Day will take place on Wednesday 14th October at the Institute, with the Keynote Speech taking place at The Tricycle Theatre, less than a minute's walk from the Institute. 

We have a number of top-level guests who’ll be taking part in Q&A panels and workshops where they’ll be talking about their experiences in the industry and imparting their advice on how to build your career as a musician/performer, or on the business side of the music industry.

We are incredibly happy to announce that rapper and singer Example will be our Keynote Speaker. He will be discussing various aspects of his career as a musician, creative and business person covering subjects including:

 

-              Connection with industry

-              Portfolio skillset

-              Challenges & successes of the music industry

-              Musicians as entrepreneurs

-              Staying well physically and mentally

 

Example first found success with the release of his second studio album, Won't Go Quietly, which peaked at number 4 on the UK Albums Chart and peaked at number 1 on the UK Dance Chart. The album had two top 10 singles, "Won't Go Quietly" and "Kickstarts".  His third album ‘Playing in the Shadows’ was released on 4 September 2011, topping the charts with two number 1 singles, "Changed the Way You Kiss Me" and "Stay Awake".  His fourth album, The Evolution of Man was released on 19 November 2012 and peaked at number 1 on the UK Dance Chart, and his fifth album, 'Live Life Living' was released in 2014 also debuted at number 1 in the UK Dance Chart.
