On Thursday 27th October, we have a fantastic event organised which focuses on your career development facilitated by The Hub and delivered by some key music industry professionals.

The sessions include:

12pm - 1pm: Mike Smith will be our Careers Day Keynote Speaker, in conversation with Tim Ingham from Music Business Worldwide. Mike is the new Managing Director of Warner/Chappell Music and former President of Music at Virgin/EMI. He was previously Managing Director of Columbia Records UK and Head of A&R at EMI Music Publishing.

1pm - 2pm: Live: When to Gig, Why to Gig, How to Gig - panellists include Lucy Dickins form ITB (Adele's booking agent) and Steve Tilley from Kilimanjaro (Ed Sheeran's promoter)

1pm - 2pm: Live: Working as a Session Musician - panellists include Matt Bramhall (MD for Sigma, Chloe Howel,Labrinth) and Dave Philips (owner of top function agency)

2pm - 3pm: When Do You Need A Manager? - panellists include Will Gresford of Triptik Management (Manager of Nick Mulvey, Jasmine Thompson, Matt Maltese) and Charlie Arme of Tileyard Music (Manager of Ella Eyre, Sigala) and Kwame Katen (Manager of Luara Mvula, Shannon Saunders)

3pm - 4pm: Record Deal vs Publishing Deal - panellists include Liz Goodwin (MD of Glassnote Records, former Marketing Director at Polydor) other panellists to be confirmed and announced shortly.

4pm - 5pm: Radio Play, Streaming and Blog Reviews - panellists include; Laura Snapes (Journalist for Pitchfork, Uncut, The Guardian, The Observer, The Financial Times, and NME), Rachel Coomber (BBC Introducing Production Manager) and Bryan Johnson (Director of Artist Services at Spotify).

There will also be Martin Dell, A&R at Columbia, Ben Blackburn, A&R at Virgin, Ben Hood, A&Rat Sony/RCA and Pete Simmons, A&R at Universal Publishing coming in for 1-2-1 A&R sessions. These MUST be pre-booked, details to be announced in due course.
