Roisin King is an accomplished musician, composer, tutor and field recording expert and teaches on our BA (Hons) Music Production for Film, TV and Games programme.

Born in Ireland, Roisin began playing and composing music from an early age, later studying Music and Art History at Trinity College, Dublin, with a specialism in Music Technology.

Once she completed her studies, Roisin invested many years in working on post production for both film and TV as a tape operator and assistant sound editor.

After living and performing for a time in the US, Roisin then moved to a remote island on the Outer Hebrides where she pursued her passion for music education.

Here, she worked as a music lecturer and was course leader for the HNC in Music at the University of Highlands and Islands.

During this time, she continued her professional practice and provided audio post production for a number of documentaries as well as compiling field recordings of local tradition bearers and musicians. Her experience in working for the British Sound Archive (specifically the Charles Parker and Ewan Maccall archives) has given her some great experience in this area.

As a composer, Roisin studied with film composers such as Joe Kramer and Christopher Young and is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music.

She joins ICMP to teach on various courses including our BA Audio Engineering and Production, BA Music Production for Film, TV and Videogames and BA Creative Music Production
