Pete Dowsett has over 10 years of experience in the music industry. He is as comfortable with engineering and production as he is with mixing or mastering.
Moving from his home town of Coventry to London in June of 2014, Pete initially set himself up as a freelance recording engineer before taking a job at Metropolis Studios. Since then, he has worked on sessions for clients such as Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, Black Eyed Peas, Will.I.Am, Rick Ross, Michael Kiwanuka, Downton Abbey, and Dappy. As a live engineer, he has worked in-house at such venues as the Birmingham HMV Institute, Coventry Kasbah, and Nuneaton Queens Hall, and toured with artists like The Darkness, The Buzzcocks, The Selector, Pulled Apart By Horses, Foals, Miles Kane, Chase & Status, Dodgy, Ash, Peace, and Cast.
Pete has recently completed his first book, titled, Audio Production Tips: Getting The Sound Right At Source, for Focal Press. He is the managing director of independent record label Ghoulish Records.
