Pete Cunnah is a Ivor Novello-nominated songwriter and producer, responsible for more than a dozen top twenty hits. As an artist in his own right, and as backroom boy working on releases for other artists, Pete has been engaged at the very highest levels of the music industry for over twenty years.
Pete is probably best known as lead singer with UK house act D:ream. During the 1990s he penned ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ and ‘U R The Best thing’, number 1 and 5 hit singles, respectively. By the close of the decade he had chalked up an impressive 12 top 20 singles and two top five albums, with over three million records sold. He then carved out a career in the back room, writing and producing for other acts, notably A1 and The Honeyz. Out of the many awards that followed his Brit & Ivor Novello nominations for his work with D:ream, Pete was awarded the Hot Press best act as well as the DMC best act. He has clocked up many hours on the road including two world tours supporting Take That.
Pete continues to produce and develop new acts notably UK BBC’s The Voice contestant Ben Kelly, balancing that with his new career in lecturing and teaching at ICMP.
