Collette Williams is a talented drummer and multi-instrumentalist with over ten years’ experience as a session player for some of the world’s biggest record labels. Her band Rews are currently signed to Marshall Records.
Collette graduated from Leeds University with a BA (Hons) in Popular & World Music. Since then her session career has brought gigs for the likes of Somny, Syco, Warner, and The 86th Floor Music. She has also played alongside a host of professional musicians such as Mark Richardson of Skunk Anansie, Feeder and Kojo Samuel (MD for Jessie J, Katy B, Plan B). She features in the official videos for both ex-Union J singer George Shelley’s hit ‘Prove Me Wrong’ and Gabrielle Aplin’s ‘Sweet Nothing’, also accompanying the latter live on the Graham Norton Show.
As half of the alt.rock duo Rews, Collette spent the summer of 2016 playing at some 23 different festivals, including Glastonbury, Green Man, and The Great Escape.
2017 has been another hugely successful year for the band, they opened the legendary John Peel stage at Glastonbury leading to BBC 6Music’s Mark Radcliffe declaring their storming set as one of his festival highlights. To top things off for Collette, in November 2017 she was named in Music Radar's 'The 10 best new drummers in the world right now' list.
Music Radar heaped praise on her role in Rews;
The band released explosive new album Pyro in November 2017 with lead single Shine showing that Williams has the attitude and groove to make it big."
Rews have released four highly acclaimed singles and their debut album is eagerly awaited. Collette officially endorses Natal, Zildjian and Protection Racket cases.
